I was sitting in 5th grade reading class the other day. The teacher was discussing the book, Your Fantastic Elastic Brain. It was an interesting read. The book detailed how important it is to be learning in the first 10 years of our lives. We are to keep our brains S-T-R-E-T-C-H-I-N-G. I am thinking to myself I should really engage Tristan this evening after school. (he is usually tired and sometimes I am too!) I knew the PERFECT activity.
We arrived home from school, ate dinner, and then we did THE activity. FINGERPAINTING!
We both put on our painting clothes, a must, paint can go everywhere! I taped paper to the tablecloth in preparation for the mess. Sometimes I don’t know exactly what to expect, but I thought I was ready. He opened ALL the fingerpaints and dumped them on the paper. Next he began mixing the colors together. I had to brace myself for what happened next…Tristan began lathering himself!
