On some days, I feel like I am losing my mind. Last week was one of those times.
The backdrop of the week was that I did not feel good. Therefore my brain was not functioning at peak performance!
One morning I woke up and realized I better throw out the pork chops before someone eats them. They had already been in the fridge for several days, and we had not gotten around to cooking them.
Since our friend was coming over to take care of Tristan, I wanted them gone. The last thing we needed was to have her cook Tristan some potentially bad food and have him get sick.
I checked the fridge and they were gone. I then opened the freezer and found them with a label them, “Do Not Eat!” I thought to myself, “This is strange. Why did I not throw them away? What was I thinking?” A few minutes later, Brian came to the kitchen. I told him I had officially lost my mind. I laughed and said, “I have no idea why I would label something ‘Do Not Eat’ and the put it in the freezer. Why didn’t I just throw them away?” I then added, “Our helper must think we are crazy!” He reminded me of what happened. He said he would be taking them to work to feed his pet piranha. I was so relieved there was a reason!
Later in the week, our respite worker noticed these large crackers. She commented that she has never seen them before. I said, “they are Matzo crackers. They are Jewish.” She still look puzzled. I went further to explain, “My mom brings them over.” She inquired, “What do people do with them?” I continued, “I have no idea. I guess you could, Google it.” I think it did appear to our respite worker we were losing our mind! I could not offer her a more detailed explanation.
Enjoy another healthy dose of laughter from our home!
